Hope school background

Hope School for Boys and Girls is a school for children from low- and middle-income families. Mr. Lucas Mhina founded this home for disadvantaged children in Tanzania in 2018 as a learning center/school. The Hope family will be made up of a majority of students from low-income families, teachers, volunteers, and administrators, as well as a dedicated Tanzanian house mother and staff member, as well as numerous volunteers who come from all over the world to help us.

Why Choose our School?

We are dedicated to providing high-quality, value-based education so that future leaders with a passion for Tanzania and Africa can emerge.

Faculty members are chosen from Tanzanian and neighboring countries’ qualified professional teachers.

Teachers are encouraged to pursue lifelong learning, particularly in their fields of study. In addition, as part of teacher capacity-building programs, the school offers short technical and soft skills training courses.

It encourages teachers to collaborate across departments and share their experiences, as well as coaching and mentoring from more experienced teachers.

A strong belief that each student can excel in any field of study and contribute to Tanzania’s and Africa’s development by becoming an effective leader in academics, business, politics, or spiritual matters. Hope Girls and Boys School encourages students to take an active role in their education.

About Arusha

Arusha is a city in Tanzania, East Africa, situated at the foot of the volcanic Mt. Meru. It serves as a gateway to safari destinations as well as Africa’s highest peak, Mt. Kilimanjaro, at 5,895 meters. Serengeti National Park, to the west, is home to lions, rhinoceros, giraffes, and leopards, among other animals. Huge herds of wildebeests cross its plains every year during their annual migration.

About Kisongo

Kisongo is an administrative ward in Tanzania’s Arusha Region’s Arumeru district. The ward has a total population of 7,501 people, according to the 2002 census. It’s about 7 kilometers west of Arusha Airport on the outskirts of the city. Kisongo has a large number of local churches, dispensaries, and schools. Kisongo Academic College (KAC) is a coed college with two branches: KAC Secondary School and KAC Department of Tourism and Conservation Training (DTC). Braeburn Arusha School is a British National Curriculum-based international school that offers Early Years, Primary, and Secondary education. Kisongo is also home to Saint Joseph Girls High School, Arusha Modern High School (owned by the Catholic Archdiocese), and St. Joseph University Arusha Campus. Msumbi Coffee, A to Z Textile Mills (a factory that produces plastics, garments, packaging supplies, bed nets, agricultural netting, and mesh), Sundown Carnival (an entertainment venue with a bar and restaurant, conference facilities, and a wedding/functions hall), and Amani Afrika are among the notable businesses in Kisongo (a fully licensed local tour operator specializing in private Kilimanjaro climbs and bespoke East Africa safaris). In January 2014, the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania inspected a 130-acre plot of land allocated to the East African Community (EAC) for future expansion. The EAC Secretariat plans to launch large-scale development projects on the property, including a staff housing scheme, international schools, a health center, recreational facilities, an exhibition ground, banking, and a shopping mall.
